SXR ADA Top end Vs R&D

Hi Guys

I have a R&D topend on my SXR today.

Would there be any advantage of changing to a ADA with dome's?

Im runing 150 PSI today. Would like to go to 175 Psi.

I could get my R&D worked down to get this compression.
What domes do i need in ADA to get that compression on stock bore?

Thanks ! Have a nice december :)

Hey Nicolaj,

If your current R&D head doesn't have interchangeable domes, the benefit of switching to ADA would basically be that, if you had a failure and pitted up a dome, you could swap in one new dome and be going again. You could also change domes to change compression later.

According to the ADA site, you would want to run 32cc domes to get 180 PSI. This would change if you have a ported cylinder.

Let me know if you want pricing on the ADA kit :)

my 2011 SXR has had 156psi since I got it in 2012 new. I'm at 800 feet elevation. I got an ADA head with 32cc domes this fall, only went up to 161psi <-- all readings with a cheap gauge

Get the ADA head. If you cut the R&D head, then you also need to recut the squish in the domes. It is alot of machining and needs to be done accurately.

The ADA website recommendation for cc are not accurate for kawi. Send me a message if you want help with setup and /or pricing.
