800 sxr motor vs 701 based motor

Assume same hull, same pump and exhaust capabilities, which motor has better potential for power utilizing stock parts (no lamey cyls, stroker cranks, etc...)?

What are the Pros/Cons of each motor??

Assuming the exact same hull and pump set up?

I would say their is no replacement for displacement.

But I would take a 701 and build the hell out of it.

The Kawasaki motor would be a more horsepower motor, but if your trying to build for freestyle, Yamaha's are a lot less work to achieve killer bottom end power...

Why must I build it??????

I think Kawi is easy to port for bottom end and you don't have to grind huge amounts of aluminuim out of the transfers like you do on the Yami

Thanks for the info. I was just curious cause I see a few people trying to squeeze gp800 motors into superjets and it seems it would easier to put a kawi 800 in than a gp800. I was also curious how it stacked up against the 701 based engines. I've seen one sxr motor in a Yamaha and wondered about how worthwhile it would be.

Is this due mostly to a lighter rotating mass? Or porting? Or both?

Does anyone know the weight difference of these two motors?

I think some of it has to do with the roof angles of the ports. yamahas are designed for low end.

sxr motor in an FX-1...........I think???

Could be a 750, but if a 750 fits so will a 800......right?

Looks like a 750 gas tank and a repositioned battery, but it seems to fit pretty damn well.

PS: stole the pics from P dub C today.

No Square..No Round..FX-1
With that question in mind, what do you guys think how....say like a 800 Kawi motor compares to a stock stroke 85mm Lamey motor For low end/mid HP? Providing they were modified equally. (same compression, approx same porting, ect). Just from a performance standpoint not a cost comparison.
