all new riders start off with laid back rides...same as riding surf really but when you get confident enough to try 3rd to 4th gear pegged is when you can expect you first helicopter flight.getting air lifted out is nothing to brag about,most guys are never 100% afterwards. dont go killin your selfs,we wont have anyone to ride with down south anymore,lol

so you are saying that hitting the same 6 manicured jumps over and over is harder technically than running through a blind track??? If anything it's different and not anything close to easy at speed.
You know thay don't call it "Stupid Cross" for nothing... Starting a sport like MX at over 30yrs old and jumping big triples is pretty stupid, not ballsy..

trail riding required NOTHING compared to the track! i have done alot of both.... the track may have the same 6 groomed jumpes the first lap, but after the shredding begins, that groomed jump is GONE. besides..... the same 6 jumps are 12 foot faces and a 60 foot gap to clear!
