280 lbs. 750sx-f build

since i would get too bored just waiting for winter to pass, i decided to build up my seven diffy some more. my plans are to get it lighter and add some power.

current setup...

300 pounds without gas
pjs pipe
ac pole
umi steering + bars(bent)
wamiltons turf and cyclone footholds
advanced timing
bored nozzle
stubby pump cone
and some other little bolt on stuff

what i will be doin...

hopefully somewhere beween 280 and 300 pounds
milled head (probly like 29cc i know every thousanth of an inch is bout 1 pound so about how many pounds is 29cc?)
straight bar turnplate i will make in my c.a.d. class for free:Banane09:
carb spacer plate that i will also make in my class
a port job
maybe bore it to around 800
lighten flywheel (what can i do to lughten this, see pics)
bilge setup
already started makin my composite, d-cut ride plate
superman tray grab handholds
hood mods (cut out baffle, how do i do that? plug holes on top, open up holes in back, and cut in handholds)
my msd ignition enhancer is on it's way
x2 trim could i use the exterior part of a steering cable with a bicycle type cable inside? also, how do you guys with x2 trim have em set up?
i think after i do all this i should have a pretty nice ski, what do you think
:shooter3:

here is a a screen shot of the turnplate i drew up in school today

i should be able to cut it out with the waterjet sometime this week

and for anyone who has the x2 trim setup... how do you have the pumps set up? mine is set up right now so that looking at it from the back the coolent is on the right, steering on the left, and up + down is on the right. but it can go down more than up:eek5: also, is there any thing too watch out for when drilling the hole for the cable?
thanks

Im not sure how it compares to the stock one but you want to make sure that the pivot point for the steering cable is not out to far on the turn plate or you will just bind your cable.

oh well that's thats the thing i don't quite know yet...
i was thinkin with the hood mods i could save a bit, what else could i do? i don't think a fiberglass ride plate would save anything, i'm just doin that to get better with the stuff.

good to hear you got some new stuff going on. I am about to add tubbies to my ski and re enforce the hull and paint it maybe. i ll get started after christmas when it acuttly gets cold down here.

What are you doing for your bilge? I have a single bracket that mounts to the drive shaft coupler. It works good but it doesnt sit quite low enough so theres always some water in there

I need a 10/18 swirl if you got a spare

hey, i dont have an extra prop. sorry... For the bilge i was gonna make a bracket in my shop class. maybe that mounts to the oil injection block off plate. and i know that you have been looking for an ignition advancement plate, well you can buy mine cuz i got a msd ignition enhancer which requires you to keep stock timing.

yea bud shoot me a pm and let me know how much you want for the advancement plate and ill take it off your hands.
I got a extra hood in the garage that all the foam will be coming out of and we are shaveing those protruding round parts above the rails and putting some hand holds in. I ll be sure to post pics when we get going on that.

cool cool more power is alwaays nice:biggthumpup:

well if u want and tips or pictures how to put a sj pole with little modification shoot me a pm

my hood is 11.2 lbs without the liner. I didnt weigh it before i went cutting tho- I was cutting for pipe clearnace issues at the time. my hull was like 112lbs with everything off it. I cant wait to see what you do to lose that weight, with my heavy motor I could lose a little more.

Check out my build thread for a good budget alternative for installing the X2 trim. I used the bicycle cable and it has held up fine. Once I replaced the steering cable, all my problems with the nozzle setup itself went away.

not saying its the smartest or safest thing, but i run an advance with my enhancer. 61x 701. made a very nice gain as well :Banane26:

and did you make that mold from the inside of the ride plate?

ya, i took it from the inside than when it was dry i flipped it over and built it up in the the other direction.
