I want every bit of performance from mine so its bored stock shoe to match the pump.
If it was out and not epoxied in that would be easy to do..................lol

I'm confused... If you're currently running the TBM cone, it's gotta be better for you than stock or you would've taken it out... right?
off topic, ported 701 that switched from a b pipe to a dry pipe is now spinning the prop down low. doesn't that mean it's got more bottom hit? just saying.....
if your going to take it out, throw the mag 148 in there and see how that does
Torr..Luc runs a drypipe in his flatwater boat..........its basically an identical setup to Bogie
his surf boat runs a B..
I have a 144mag with a skat 12/17 sitting on my bench Ive been too lazy to install on my small bore Xscream motor
Lucas's dry pipe 1000 makes its power from Mid to Top, it has bottom end, but the real power is mid to top which is what you want for flatwater.
The B pipe 1000 makes its power bottom to mid which is perfect for the surf.
I'm sure in the next month or two my ski will have the dry pipe.... The power you get from that pipe is unreal compared to the B pipe.
yeap , and thts why we use 145mm pump, we want to spins on the botton, and hits on the mid<
I mean it hits
i'm not to familiar with the dry pipes which one are you guys using
Im no flatwater expert but how can you say you want mid to top on a flatwater boat? Going into setup waves is done at low speeds/throttle, so isnt that hit for a roll or backie considered "low end"?
I guess the other factor is prop selection.......................If you have a more bottom end hitting pipe, couldnt you stand to make it work with a steeper prop? We do the same thing with the blower cars....they make gobs of torque, so we gear them down (numerically) to work with the torq curve of the motor. Wouldnt the overall outcome be similar? Im not saying one is better than the other, but that there are some tuning choices........................
FWIW, I am into this thread b/c I am building a flatwater boat, and look to have it done in the next 2 weeks............................You guys have ridden so many combos I know your info is accurate, but riding style/preference comes into play too.
We should all be out riding today!
That doesn't sound right... You sure it isn't carb tuning?
