I never thought I would need hood straps on flatwater. Its the stock hood hooks that suck! Mine bent up and caused the hood to pop off.

you always need hood straps in flat/surf its a must...got them in stock..who needs them now..

Never tried, but would a metal detector detect carbon fiber? With something that large it may save you some time if it worked.

What about a fish finder.... maybe if you knew how to use it well you could pickup its silhouette/ signature. I don't know jack about fish finders but it is sonar and may speed up the process.....

x2 also it doesnt take a very big hunk of styrofoam or pool noodle to float a hood

Hey it was an idea...granted a bad one, but still an idea. He said it wasn't that deep and metal detectors do detect things other than metal and seeing as how carbon fiber conducts electricity. :shrug:

same thing happend to me i lost my 24-7 hood because i had no straps doing flat water, hope you find it:brap:

Get the TBM hood hooks they are the only ones I haven't broke yet. An EJ brap strap may help also, the design of the SXR does not like the latch setup that it came with. They are sometmes tight sometimes loose.

ratchet straps for sure! I think I am going to stick with the dual ratchets and the stock latch like I had before.
