I would stay away from the VP gas jugs. I got one and had the lid crack and split open like an 1/8th of an inch after 3 months of use. Big waist of money.
Thanks for all the get wells. I just have a nice scar and an itchy head that I can't itch (due to nerve damage). I did have a CAT scan at the ER after it happened... all was well, guess I am hard headed!
Well 6 days later and feeling much better. I got 23 of the staples out and the stitches.
It is kinda hard to see the cut through my hair but there it is.
Thanks for all the get wells. So far each day different things have been hurting. The whole top of my head along the cut and my forehead is still completely numb. I should get the stitches on my check and some of the staples removed Friday if all goes well.
I will definitely be getting a helmet. To any one out there who was like me and thought "I don't need a helmet I am not doing anything crazy like back flips or barrel rolls" Learn from me and WEAR A HELMET!!! I got really really lucky it could have been so much worse.

Here is a picture of the one I built. It is nice having a place to put crap on. The rack the ski is sitting on is what I use to put it in the back of my truck.
I just installed UHMW Polyethylene on the bottom of a stand I use to pull a ski up into the bed of a pickup. It slides so much easier with the plastic than what it did with bare 2x4's. Here is a link where I purchased it, it's at the bottom of the linked page...
You can get ss screws and washers that fit the head of the screw at Lowe's and screw down the front corners. I have not had the cover come out since I did this. You can see one in the pic below.
If you can reuse the plastic housing you can buy just the oem wiring harness for less. I just got one from a local dealership they matched the cheapest online price I could find.
When I did the switch to a RN pole I re-used the SN bracket and mounted the stock (trimmed down) hood hooks on the out side of the bracket. You would also have to cut/grind down the end of the pole to clear the SN bracket.
