I am running a RN pole with the stock SN bracket. To get it to fit I had to cut a little off the end of the pole and cut the tab for the pole rest on the bracket. The RN pole is a bit narrower so I used stainless washers from Lowe's the to take up the extra space. I used the stock SN springs...
I would duct tape so you can ride until you find a RN pole. I just did the conversion with a shortened RN pole. I like it so much more and it looks way better.
I used a heat gun to get the stickers off then berryman B12 Chemtool to get the goo off, it worked way better then 3m adhesive and wax remover. Word of caution, Chemtool can soften the paint and make it scrape off so I would only use it if you are repainting.
I would check the filter screen in the carb. I had a couch that would run great then suddenly die and then after it set the contaminant would settle out of the screens and it would run again then clog up and die.
You could also pick up sleeving and heat shrink and make them look really nice.

You could also put the head back on and do the rope through the plug hole trick. I have done that to remove and install flywheels and couplers. You will also need a puller to get the flywheel of the shaft. I bought a harmonic balancer puller from O'Reilly's and it worked great, just tighten in...
I painted my dirt bike frame with the pj1 stuff and it has held up pretty well. I tried looking for it a while back and all I could find was black. Anyone know where to get it at? It would be nice to have some color options other than the black, white, and almond with the appliance epoxy.
I have an Idea. Anyone ever try a headlight switch from a dirt bike. I have a handlebar mounted switch I took off my KDX laying around in the garage somewhere. I will have to try that this summer. I went through two cheap radioshack switches last year.
Thanks for the advice. Unless I find out otherwise I will just plan on doing that. Keeps it nice and simple that way.
As for the power increase with the 6m6 cases my take is it will be better than what I had and I was ok with the power the 650 made I am a newbie!! I am also re-foaming and...
I am putting a stock 61x topend on my stock 6m6 engine. I plan on boring the 6m6 cases and using the stock ground out exhaust and stock carb and intake. I know neither of those are ideal but I am on a budget. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what jetting I will need to run?
