I can imagine. I'm doing research on my bilge options. Anybody have anything else on the form? So far I'm going to get footstraps / footholds, and crouch down further while giving it a brap after getting under.

Yeah, I'm in the market for a helmet right now... I've come close to wanging my head a few times. Unfortunately my head is huge so I gotta order it.

I'd try one with surf stance, but it's really hard to use my feet to pull up on the gunwales if my feet aren't level... I get twisted a little and generally fall off.

Ah. Not too much surf typically on Lake Erie, sorry. I think the only way I'm going to figure out what to do with the rideplate is by riding a bunch of different skis with different configurations and just work it out.

I'm a noob, and I can lean a bit over the front of my completely stock '08 and get it to slide no problem. If I'm not trying to, I've never had it slide accidentally on me, but if I try, it's easy. I'm still not really convinced that any one method is better than another yet from this thread...

Really? I'm admittedly a noob, so I'm obviously not arguing, just discussing. I thought that since the '08 was supposed to be 2" longer than the '96-'07's, that a D-cut ride plate would be even more effective in getting the nose up and out of the water. Opinions? I also thought that the...

I just bought an '08 myself and I'm still learning the ropes, but it seems like people here like to D-cut the ride plate and get a worx (I believe 201) grate for freestyle, though it's obviously different for racing. Go go gadget search button!

Call up Action Yamaha, they're usually pretty good to work with, I got my '08 there a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I gotta work on that. Unfortunately mine is pretty far off the ground, which means I need to either have a team of 2 or 3 guys to lift it onto the trailer or I need to back it really far down into the water.
