the only diff in the pipe is the chamber. ive seen blaster mod and limited chambers in superjets with little modification. id think that the blaster being bigger would allow for an SJ chamber under the hood. my blaster hull knowledge is very limited though. the blaster chambers make more power...

it looks like you had to move the ball forward, not backward, right?
cutting the upper cable end would bring the lower sleeve more forward, not backward.
is it possible that the pump nozzle youre using is longer than stock?
ahh, that makes sense then. it sounds like the stop broke off and then powdercoated. thats why you cant see bare aluminum where it was. id imagine that you could just make a stop with some nuts or just one long one on the chinpad support bolt thats cut to the height of the steering plate.... or...
im not sure whatd be different then. im running an xmetal pole + plate with a brand new cable (didnt have to trim the threads either) and it travels left and right all the way to the steering stop 'nut' thats on the bottom of the chinpad support bolt. i cant remember if it hit the 'barrel' w/o...
thats why the nozzle should be disconnected while adjusting the upper end of the cable. once the plate hits the steering stop (and not the cable limit), you connect the nozzle and trim where it hits the pump as to not stress the cable.
they said theyre going to gather the broken pieces of the ski to figure out why it happened. i think theyd gather more info from brain fragments.
