How is the light gonna blink when the pick-up isn't sending a signal to the brain? Also those lights go out without notice and the brain can still work fine. Those wires leading out of the pick-up can get pinched and turned too much coming out the pick-up and also going through the stator, etc...

Did you try a new pickup/s on the stator? On my MSD TL(newer dual digital), I lost spark once and it was the pickup. It just went bad. I put on a new pick up and all was good.
