roger!
ill use and epoxy glue to hold the breather tubes in. i may just go with one big tube instead of 2 small ones.
it will go above that 'triangular area' thats made up of the tank, flywheel cover and B chamber.
theyll go up about 2" or so into the liner.
im in the process of making sakit2me a modded hood for her SJ and thought id take pics of the process for those interested.
ill add pics and descriptions to this thread as i go. theyre cameraphone pics, so go easy on me.
drum roll please........:clown:
chick, after i saw the hull in the shop, it looks much shinier than i thought it was going to. the clear in the black gelcoat really does help.
on a sadder note, you should have your boat by valentine's day..... steve is busy making 2 texilium handcups for sakit2me's hood and im making sure...
i understand that you might think the price is high but if the maker isnt making any money, he wont be making any hoods either. nobody is going to shape new plugs, make molds from them and start producing parts w/o any profit to be had from it.
well, wait......
who here has the number to that...
another thing to consider is your sparkplug wires if youre riding in saltwater. if theyre brittle/broken, even in the slightest, 100% of the voltage may not get to the plugs if they get wet.
if you dont have a huge-ass drypipe and you can make a low liner for it, you should be okay. i just took some pics of the one im modding.... maybe ill just make another SN hood mod thread and post 'em up. you get a pretty good idea of the airspace in the liner and hood from them.
what about $200? would that be better?
:haha:
the price is non-negotiable. a retail price of $500 wouldnt even justify this thread, let alone the time, materials and effort itd take to produce the parts (and making the plugs and molds).
so lets get out of dreamland and realize that the price...
hacking up stock hoods is a lot of work and still leaves you with a heavy hood!
this is for those, like freestyleriverrat and others, that actually prefer a square over a round.
theres lots of money being put into extreme-makeover squares lately.
people put more than that into a pipe whether...
one MAJOR difference between rounds and squares is that nobody makes a/m hoods for squares.
while it may be a moot point to roundie owners, it could be something worth considering for square owners.
options. ya know?
