The best way is with a gelcoat shaver,I am thinking you don't want to spend $600.00 for this one off tool so most people use a 4 1/4 side grinder and a sanding flap disc.

Or check into getting it ceramic coated.

They used to powder coat everything ,ride plates, intake grates,carb intakes,it does ok in fresh water but flakes off like pint on a rubber bumper in saltwater.

Yes the PJS ski has the same engine setup but a totally different hull,that one in the pic is a 93 Laserjet which is the upgraded hull,mine is a 92 and the hull pretty much sucked, doesn't matter for what I am doing since I am reinforcing the crap out of it,but for freestyle use the PJS engine...

Make sure the starter has an 8 tooth starter clutch on it if its a 787 engine,a 720 won't really care,any good starter shop should be able to check it and or rebuild it if necessary,skip autozone.
