I lost count how many times my 650 was full of water but it never dropped compression.
I must say that I like how there are actual prices on there for hulls.

The keepers won't extend the life of your mounts in most cases.
They prevent the motor from flying forwards when you hit bottom ripping the mounts off. They won't help on them fun to do upside down landings.
Just plan on replacing mounts every now and then.
If it was mine I would have the cases split by now.
Check all the bearings and locator pins on that thing and also take a good long look at the cases.
You mentioned that the motor vibrates quite badly, maybe it's a sign of a big boom event coming up.
The square has a different shape in the dash board area where is meets the tray. The lip in the bulk head isn't there (maybe it is under the dash board step but never cut deep enough to find out) but I made my own out of some aluminum.
