when I used to own and ride a '98 GP1200 and my wave blaster I used to wear a helmet in the surf all the time. Took me one slam into the bars with my face, braking my nose and ripping off the cartillage (sp) from between my nostrils. Helmet for sure.

did you do the bottom like that? if so, how did it hold up to beaching etc? I will be looing to paint my entire ski this spring and was not sure if i was going to use interlux or DuPont Imron.

i felt that way too until i moved there. The gulf coast of Alabama is one of the best kept secrets IMO. Sure, no surf unless there is a storm off shore, but none-the-less, the beaches are spectacular and weather is great. As for affording the $250k house in AL - cheap taxes my friend...

I'm partial to yellow - i say black and gold for sure. however, i think the yellow turf may get dirty very easily, as well as fade quickly. My orange turf I used faded pretty fast in the sunlight.

I love that orange hood... in fact, i might paint this ski (top deck) that same color. I love it. yeah, the tray has taken up nearly all of my time so far... as soon as I get my 3" monster scupper from Sergio I can finish cutting the the poly foam and finish the tray.
