Speaking of stabs, need surf stab advice

sorry to hear about your fracture. no, you really do not need footholds or straps to do stabs, even in surf. yeah, try getting your weight a little further forward - that should help get the nose down. you may want to check with legdrag to get more advise for doing them on an X2

Speaking of stabs, need surf stab advice

couple more pics... also, i started playing with doing stabs hitting the wave coming from a different angle, more parallel with the wave - more like how you'd start into a reentry... it's like a nose stab reentry... kinda cool.

Speaking of stabs, need surf stab advice

that's more or less what I do... although, i've learned that if I start into my tuck earlier I go into an inverted stab.... if I don't tuck I can continue to throw my body weight around more, and do an over-rotated stab almost land facing the same way I took off. - lots of variation to be had...

    Frosty's '98 Freeride Superjet Rebuild

Oh, and as for cutting the foam. I did some looking around for a hot knife to use, which is how they cut foam in industrial settings. They are stupid expensive even for a small one. So I tried something else. I still use the hack saw blade, which is messy, but if you use a heat gun on the...

how to setup a stock ride plate

what pole are you running? a shorter pole will help to get your body closer to the nose, center of gravity, which in turn will help keep the nose down. It will also help when starting to learn some tricks... my AC pole is -6", XMW short turn plate, XMW straight bars, lowered bracket and...
