Flywheel came loose (found it, with pics)

That's very believable. I had to chase threads on a crank before and go a bit deeper in order to get a flywheel bolt to seat properly. It was tight, but that was only becaus it was bottoming out on the threads, not because the shoulder of the bolt was seated on the flywheel.

    "The Way Things Were"

I'm sorry that this is how it all worked out for you. I do appreciate your (both of you) contributions that you made. We all now have an awesome documentary of what the freeride scene is/was (The Addiction) and it certainly wouldn't have happened like that without you two. Will we still see...

    what to do with friends......

Either your friend isn't much of a friend or he's stupid or just oblivious to the real world. I think that in many cases people aren't trying to intentionally be asses, but since they don't really "get it" then they don't know that what they are doing is wrong. Maybe you need to do some poking...

    REV 1200 in action

Mosquini, on a positive note, you did finally get off of a kawi :chairshot: Sucks that you don't have anything to ride though. :grumble:

    hooray Twist Grafix!!!!!

Ollie does awesome work. He spent lots of time creating and perfecting the graphics for my buildoff winner and I couldn't be happier with the results. He did the install too and made sure it was all perfect.:woot::woot:

I wonder whats under the hood

He's really throwing his head back on those. That first video he snaps it back so fast it looks painful. I guess that's the secret.

stock 701 with full spec carb...

Good porting is a reliable mod and it's going to be much cheaper than buying a full spec single plus manifold and flame arrestor. It'll cost you about half as much to do porting.....unless you're getting a super deal on a used setup.

    New Shop On The Block???

What about when john doe calls and has specific questions for the guy porting the cylinders? He has to get away from a cylinder to talk on the phone and then he's behind. Multiply that by 20 calls a day (since you're the best shop around) and all the sudden you're screwed. A secretary won't...

    3 Weeks W/ X Metal=many New Fans

It's definitely the front that puts out most of the noise. I have ridden with guys with X-metal single rear only, front only, and one front/one rear. The front only is the loudest, followed closely by the one front/one rear. Single rear isn't that bad. The extra several feet of tubing to the...

    2008 Daytona Motosurf Freeride

Depends.....year before last a full 3/2mm suit was pretty standard along with some extras. This past event was much warmer and you could get away with nothing or a shorty or be toasty warm in a full 3/2mm.

    whats this ski worth??

$500 - 1200 depending on how bad you want it. It's a shiny turd (with a better than stock engine), but it's still a turd.

omg wtf is a msd tl ?

It's a non-charging ignition system. All of the energy goes to the spark and you have to charge your battery after a couple tanks of gas. It really gives you some nice power down low. The downsides are that it is expensive and somewhat difficult to setup properly. It's usually one of those...

wouldnt it be great if there was an alternative

Your school hates you don't they :blackeye: I'm sure it's better now, but when I took a Solid Edge course back in 2000, that was the biggest piece of crap 3D CAD system I've ever seen. I think they give super educational discounts in order to get into schools. I don't see how anyone would buy...

No sealant. The one I bought has a groove in it for the hose clamp to rest in. Easy.

    Hull Resurfacing

Sorry, you probably wouldn't know it was spheres by reading about them. It's the West systems fillers or the fillers from other brands. They are mostly made up of glass or polymer microspheres. Kinda like a microscopic glass beach ball.... Some of the polymer ones don't like prolonged...

    X metal water box

Just get the regular and buy a rubber pipe cap from Home Depot. That's what Pat recommended to me and it's held up perfect for 30+ hours so far. Do it that way and you'll have the option for dual later.....or if you want to sell it.

    Hull Resurfacing

marine epoxy resin mixed with a good sandable filler. Get the right filler spheres. Some aren't meant for below the waterline although I doubt it matters since we never leave our skis in very long.
