for flatwater people, removing the hood is no big deal. although i agree removing the switch is dumb. i have read that some people do it to reduce total fuel line volume, they were saying it gave better throttle response? no idea to the truth of that and i'm sure 99% of us would never...

what brit said, you can install from the back, but you'll have to cut a slightly larger hole and then glass it back. advice, go with the 2in. might as well go with the bigger one since the cost is nearly the same. i wish i had.
