i was running a D-cut stocker from my 1998 superjet - I've since cut it flush with the hull... however, my hull is -2.5"s so it's really loose now... lovin' it!
someone should have one... check with Brian (proformance1) he's got an ass load of extra parts.
I typically only ride with my helmet for surf... I'll have mine, but will likely not wear it... unless I'm forced too...

with the shortened hull (-3") and tubbie destroyers... and pre-08 steering, i find it to be great in the surf. it's somewhat squirrelly (being shortened), but loser than the stock length hull, which makes it more fun.
there are days in the summer that start off dead flat, but quickly chop up. I rarely recall any totally flat days on lake erie. usually 1 - 2 foot chop - with plenty of large boat wakes. September/October are about the only somewhat predictable months for waves. That's the transition months...
