does it get heavy when it's wet? I've been looking at these, and other neoprene vests, but I'm used to my JP side entry vest and was not sure if the neoprene absorbs water and makes it heavier. thanks

you could, but not sure how long it will last... maybe put a lay over the turf on the top side of the foot hold. that will also serve to give you more padding for the top of your foot.
