There is something to be said for simplicity. The beam type can not go way out of calibration, you'd see it if the needle was bent or something. The main drawbacks are no ratchet and you need to be able to see it.
10-80 3/8 is probably the most used wrench -- be aware though that you dont really want to use the bottom end of the scale, so eventually you'll need an inch-lb range as well. Just noticed they are on a good sale right now btw.
Be sure you have a class III reciever with a weight distribution rating if you are even thinking about that. (not all 2 inch recievers are class III!)
You are not only dropping 300lb on the tongue weight, but you are adding a ~2 ft torque arm to the trailer's tongue load.
I should have said (or thought things through better) -- this makes sense only if you have the pole completely off for some other reason. No I wouldn't go disconnecting all the cables if all you are doing is swapping the spring..
It is easier to mess with the spring it you pull the bracket off the ski and install the bracket/spring to the pole. For sure if you don't have a helper thats the way to go.
Last time (the Very last time) I was in my yamaha dealer I asked for a 38 sbn gasket. I thought it was bad enought the guy had to look it up in the computer, but then he tells me its a special order "we pretty much only stock motorcycle parts". See ya.
Too late now, but how about making the top mold before you split it, then you could cut the top up to get it off. That might be better anyway - I'd assume the top shell is pretty flimsy and you might have a hard time keeping it square while making the mold.
Well I never liked the thing myself, but cant you set it up to be text only?
I'd think posting graphics in there was the main cause of server load and other issues.
