Jet Dynamics Intake Grate and Long ride plate with TBM rear sponsons for a stock-ish ski. Hands down. Or run the TBM intake grate, but definitely run the jet dynamics plate.

Skis do not need to be registered to race them. However I would say most people ride outside of racing, so they are registered anyway. Polaris Octanes were able to be registered with no problems. Polaris simply chose to only sell them to racers, not the general public.

It's easy to bust the rear of the 08+ sj loose just like any other ski. The 08+ sj is just as nimble and good for freestyle/freeride as the old round nose, but it has the capability to carve harder when you'd like to.

Flame arrestors are way better than removing trumpets. trumpets are open holes, flame arrestors have no open holes to directly allow water into your motor.

I have all SXR-s. I am looking to add 08+ SJ to the fleet. The sxr tears up the chop, but the sj (pre 08) will never handle like an sxr. If you wanna freestyle go sj. If you want BOTH....go 08+ sj. If you want handling and racing, go SXR. I want 08+ SJ...its a bad to the bone hull.

I have run both the plate and jumper for 6 years on my 2004 stock sxr, as well as my brothers ski, sisters ski, and all of my buddies. I recommend both. No problems at all, 87 octane.
