Yeah that's the kind of work I am trying to avoid, there is no bright future in fixing other people scewups on four strukers, I am doing a DI right now, thats bad enough,

    How important is foam density?

someone should come up with an self inflatable bag system that is hidden somewhere like the handlepole pad or maybe under the rub rails , not sure how you would engage it though, you would need some foolproof way of not setting it off unless the ski sank..

I can't bring myself to cough up $1500 for the upgrade to unlimited on my candoo programmer, I haven't even had a need for it this year so far and quite honestly I hate doing the electrical troubleshooting on the 4 tecs..

I believe last time I checked the local stealerships were getting $160 per hr here. If I did that I would only work one day a week.

    650sx rebuild and restoration.

Honestly I didn't even give the guy with no tailgate a second thought, that's such a common occurrence around here, but come to think about it most of the coolers I have were picked up only a few miles up the road from there, three still had ice and beer in them , so yeah that happens around...

Used WTB Square Nose fuel filler hose

In the past I have taken old hoses like that to a local auto parts house and just found a radiator hose with close to the same shape , sometime you have to cut off a section or cut a bend out of the hose to make it work. My local guy just cuts me loose in the back room where all the hoses are...

    Beer

Been drinking Monterry lately , it's basically a cheaper version of Corona and it's sold at ALDI for $7.99 a sixer, it can't be all bad hell my name is right there on the beer. Mon -Terry

I had a local guy that used to bore my cylinders, he was in an accident with a zero turn mower and now he is in a wheelchair, I think I can get him to do this one if I go up there and help him.

So I checked the bore size and it looks to have been bored .25 OS, I get 88.23 on the pistons and 88.40 on the bore size, so that's .17 mm clearance or .006 for you Mericans , technically it should have been ok and it would have been if they had actually checked the clearances on the raves...

    How important is foam density?

I used the stock Kawasaki foam out of a TS on one of the skis I am redoing, it fit perfectly on the inside of the ski with no trimming needed . On the Superjet I did I used chunks of Blue Dow foam and stuffed them in wherever they would go then I poured 4LB foam in all the cracks and...

    Looking for information

Regrettably I left the dealership right before the Mastercraft skis arrived, I think over the years I worked on maybe one of those skis, I remember something about the fuel tanks not coming out of the skis so any tank cleaning will probably have to be done with the tank still in the ski . I...

They don't know how to do it on the older machines, their equipment will perform the task, but they have no idea how to perform that task on the older stuff.

    How important is foam density?

In a nut shell the higher the density of the foam is the less it will expand and absorb water and the higher the structural value is, I don't even bother with the two lb and three lb stuff .

Exactly and just because you take it to a dealership does not mean the work will be done correctly , most of the guys in dealerships here have never even laid eyes on a DI engine much less repaired one.

Fast(ish) swapped 550 skating around at speed

I honestly have no experience with those so I can't comment one way or the other.

Fast(ish) swapped 550 skating around at speed

Also sometimes those rear caps are not sealed properly and they get water inside them, but yes removing the rear caps and putting them back on correctly is one of the first hull mods they used to do on race boats.

Fast(ish) swapped 550 skating around at speed

All of that may not make any difference , I got to ride a Dave Gordon world finals ski one time, it pretty much had every bell and whistle, the damn thing was almost unrideable, as you said it torqued heavily to the right from what I remember and I could adjust my stance enough to ride it but...

Yep it will shear those rings right on off , this one will have to be bored again and new pistons with proper rave valve clearance this time..

Customers Seadoo GTX DI , they brought it to me because it didn't run , I checked the compression and basically had nothing on either cylinder, I can clearly see the engine has been into before by the head gasket and paint missing off of the head bolts. But I give it the benefit of the doubt...

Personally I wouldn't even put fuel in the tank until I at least looked inside the tank, if you want to start it to check the engine out pull the flame arrestor off and pour a small amount of premix down the carb throat, at this point if the compression is good and it has spark it should fire...
