    Blaster Redoing the Wife's WB1

I completely agree, its just the wet sanding and rubbing out that I personally would rather avoid and just spray something.

    Blaster Redoing the Wife's WB1

Gel coat is durable but I would think rolling anything on would leave a finish thats less than desirable.

    Blaster Redoing the Wife's WB1

I ran the ProTaper SE YZ Highs with a ~1.25" Powermadd riser when I had my blaster. I loved this setup but would have liked another inch or two of rise (I'm 6'2"). I had thought of running the pit bike bars too. I would recommend spraying the paint instead of rolling it. I have a pretty nice...

Other Anybody used this hybrid resin?

"Polyester resin designed for use with..." You be the judge. I would play it safe and go with epoxy.

Other Advice needed:Tips for making molds with general materials

Ive made a couple small molds so I can add a little bit to the topic. I made a quicky rideplate mold that turned out pretty good using polyester glass and bondo. I started by covering the ride plate in green 3m tape (expensive but worth it) because it was so roughed up on the bottom. After that...

Super Jet LegDrag Lightweight SuperJet Build

I confirmed my suspicion of the tight radii giving me problems. Im thinking for hand layups a 1/4" minimum radius is required. I removed the stand off for the bushing and put in the largest radii that I could. Ill try it again this weekend.

80 grit, primer, 220-320 then gloss black. Still a little bit of work to do.

Super Jet LegDrag Lightweight SuperJet Build

Kind of in a holding pattern waiting to get more materials to finish the tray and get the exhaust tube bent. Decided to use some left over poly glass and filler to make a mold of a coupler cover so I can try making one out of carbon. I used the same process as I did with the ride plate, but I...

Dropped the motor in, its sitting about 3/16 too high. Ill have to play with the mounts to see how much I can get out of them.

Super Jet LegDrag Lightweight SuperJet Build

Yep better off going a little on the heavy side to make sure it holds up after all that has been invested thus far. I have to admit I am a little bit worried about the motor mounts with so much material added on. I took some dimensions before hand so I think I can find the mounting holes again...

Super Jet LegDrag Lightweight SuperJet Build

I ran out to check on the ski this morning before work. It seems to be very solid, the sides of the engine bay had a lot of flex before mainly along the top deck, but I cant get any movement out of them now. I started out with the 2 layers of biax over the motor mounts and under the pole bracket...
