SXRs have Fuel Filters on the pickups in the gas tank.
The BRE (Breather) should be going up the handlepole. Yes there should be a one way check valve on the breather.

SXR's don't really need a good job for them to work. No risk in water logged foam, since Kawi uses Styrofoam. I like my footholds because they allow me to position my feet wider for slashes and much safer jumping waves. Level up

That is a Round Body(RN) Mikuni (1980s). They went to the Square Body (SBN) for all the 750s I know of.
