SXR Fuel line help

Finally working on my sxr again and I'd like to refresh all the fuel lines. I'm having some troubling figuring out exactly where the breather line is supposed to go and if a check valve should be at the end up it. Currently coming off the fuel pickup is hose "BRE", it's about 14" long and just sits in the engine bay...that doesn't seem right but that's how i got the ski.

From a parts diagram i found VALVE-RELIEF49057-0002 but don't have one in the ski. does this just plug into the end of the breather line?

second I'm wondering if a fuel filter should be run inline with the on and reserve hoses.

SXRs have Fuel Filters on the pickups in the gas tank.

The BRE (Breather) should be going up the handlepole. Yes there should be a one way check valve on the breather.

thank you! Do the filters ever need to be changed, my ski is a 2003...

Will any one way valve do or should i go OEM? Not sure how much the pressure release of OEM vs aftermarket would effect the engine running.

You can pull them off the pickup tube and clean them off. The fuel filter in the carbs get the finer particles. I had a dog hair in mine once :)
