Discovered a water leak this past weekend.
Bought it from the PO this way. I think he said that he bought it that way also.
Anyways, what are ya'lls recommendations?
Cut it out and re-sheet it properly?
Do auto stores sell fibre glass?
Wally-world special buy. They're off-road gloves.
Complete waste of money.
Bought the gloves on Friday and by Saturday they were falling apart between the seams.
They were cheap, though. We took them back for a refund.
Rode a '92 and '95 750sx Saturday. They were both stock, except the 95 had new turf and AM ride plate and intake grate.
Rode the 95 first. It had a STRONG tendency to sit in the water cockeyed. The right side sat much lower and even felt heavier in turns. (That last part may all have been...
1987 js550. Westcoast ride plate and intake grate.
I was taking her on a bunch of sharp, quick turns and the butt was sliding out more then I like. She'd loose hook as bad as our '92 XP. It used to scare me, now it just annoys me. :saevil:
She has sponsons. Is there anything else I can do...
1992 Seadoo XP.
The driveshaft bearing blew. The 1 that's got a rubber boot to keep the water out. The boot ripped off and water came gushing in. She made it back to shore, so no horror stories here.
How do I get the bearing out of the bearing, umm, 'holder'? Is it just...
'87 js550. Stock bn44 carb, I think.
She's acting like the main jet's plugged. Doesn't rev up unless I play with the primer.
She didn't start acting like this until I was playing with waves and the main fuel line fell off. I then used the primer to get most of the way back.
Where's...
Got a old work acquaintance of my wife that wants to rent out old 1992 XP for the July 4th 3-day weekend.
If this was your situation, would you rent your ski out? If so, how much would you rent it for.
For an idea of the local rates, here's a marina at the lake they're going to...
Took my 550 pump apart for the first time, ever.
Mick, remember complaining about my pump cavitating too much. Found out why.
I'll pick a new prop up locally.
'89 js550
The PO disabled the choke and installed a primer.
I never thought that I'd have to worry about the innards of my carb falling apart, but that's exactly what happened. My engine took a look at the choke plate screws and thought how yummy 1 would taste.
Luckily, the screw...
Was letting some people ride, and the engine suddenly stopped on them in the water and wouldn't turn over.
As near as I can tell, the impeller blade dug into something metal (wear ring got worn out?) and has become lodged.
The cylinders move freely up and down for about 1~2mm, but the...
Another site that I've started frequenting has something called 'bike of the month'. It looked kinda fun.
Follows is the rules for it. It could easily be adapted for jet-skis instead of SOHC4 bikes.
"SOHC-FOUR motorcycle of the month rules:
1. the SOHC4 motorcycle must be owned by...
It's a 007trailers 18' long flatbed trailer. No bearing buddies, yet.
Every week she goes in the water, and I've had it for close to 2 months.
How often should I repack the bearings?
When I do repack the bearings, I'm going to put bearing buddies on it. I don't want to repack early...
I'm getting ready to look at a 1999 kx 100 that the seller says doesn't have a title because he never needed 1 since it's off-road only.
I've never heard of a bike that has a motor and no title before. Have you?
I live in NM.
I was doing some slides when my ski mysteriously disappeared from underneath me and appeared sideways in front of me. I tried to hold on as best I could, but the grip slid right off the bar.
What adhesive is recommended to keep the grip on the bar? Contact cement?
While riding my 550, I was practicing tight turns and quick stops (for lack of a better description) when I noticed that I can turn left on a dime, but I'd crank it hard right and the turn would be extremely wide.
She tracks more-less straight otherwise.
Is this a weight shifting issue...
