Does anyone have experience with a hooker impeller on a big engine? 870 lamey
Dave recommended a 13/18 hooker impeller for me and its cavitating pretty bad... I cant figure it out since I swear it didnt cavitate the first time I took it out... its really puzzling
I resealed everything and...
go to the lake and make sure your jets and popoff are right and adjust high and low adjusters... that might make it run smoother... did you align the engine without the rubber piece between the couplers like you're supposed to? Did you make sure it was as good as you could get it in all directions?
Why dont you guys get more into flatwater tricks? I have a good time.... if you make your own wake then its never flatwater :-)
The weather does suck for about half the year though.... I could use another 2 months of riding and I'd be cool with it...
use the search on the site here... you will find all the info you need from many other older threads exactly the same as this... you will get your answers there.... there are some good threads about it
my guess is still a part used on many different yamaha mounts... a few of which prob have something to avoid... therefore making the little indent... then they have one part for everything so they save $$$$$.... its called a "plate" on their part diagram... and holy crap they are 7.44 a piece...
if you pull it up and it turns a little bit it doesnt matter... try it at the lake and I bet you 100:1 that you wont notice it one bit... mine does that... when you pull the trim it changes the position of the steering cable nub just slightly which in turn changes the position of the steering...
to the guys doing flips: are your footholds clamping your feet in? my holds dont really hold my feet in super tight...
Like when kick your feet in.... is it real tight? do you have to pull them back out with any force? or does it just come right out? my feet touch the top of my holds but...
Brian is doing a great job at his work. My 870 Lamey RIPS. :barrel:
He's been easy to deal with- easy to get ahold of- and he knows his stuff. The trim is the best too.
He's earned the positive feedback! :bigok:
