Both have portwork,ada at 185,tbm flywheels ,sxr has advent,sj has msd, blackjack carbs I think the 800 in a light hull would be a great combo just my 2 cents.

I can tell you if you go with Jetworks for the 800 you will be very happy. My girl rides a SJ with a Jetworks 701 and it runs great but my 800 has alot more power with the same mods . I have actually been thinking of trying it in the SJ hull.

It's great to have a girl that's into the same sport and doesn't mind wrenching on her own ski as the build thread shows. She has had a 650SX, 04 SXR Limited & now she has a 01SJ. She worked her ass of on her ski. She loves the fact she done some of the work herself. I'm lucky...

I have a set of Arts mod 38s on my girls sj and they work great ,and i run 46 blackjacks and love them just my opinion.

Might check the pitch we had the same thing going on with a sj turned out it was the prop .It was a brand new one that was marked wrong.Also may be the amount of water going in the pipe .
