I agree. The owner of the 96 said he bought two of them from a racer in Denver. Here is what he said:
I didn't build it. I've had it since 2006. It originally had a Factory Type 4 dry pipe in it. I switched out the pipe for a Factory B pipe to get more freestyle performance. I attached a...
Yeah that 07 is clean...The guys garage is also immaculate, makes me think he takes care of his stuff. This is a tough decision. I know the wife would just say go with the cheaper one.
Thanks for all the input. I really wasnt too concerned with the footholds, I just thought I would mention it. My main concern was one ski is 16 years old and was a previous race ski and the other is only 5 years old and looks very clean. I am not familiar with all of the upgrades on the 96 so...

It was difficult to remove the stock pivot bolt with the tools I had but after a little heat I finally got it unscrewed. I ended up going to Lowes and bought a 3" 3/8 threaded hex bolt and a couple of lock washers and nuts. I also found a plastic bushing that fit almost perfectly...
Yeah...Looking closer at the pics of Little_franny's subplate, it is slightly different than mine. I am not going to be able to reuse the stock pivot location, as it is too far from the bump stop. Only way it would work in that location is if I drilled a couple of short bolts through the sub...
Thanks Jon!!! I will take a look and hopefully be back on track for this weekend.
I would also like to add that Xscream has been great and has offered a full refund plus a discount on a future order. They also plan to update their website to be more specific as to what units this steering...
Rick just got back with me and has confirmed the Xscream adjustable steering system will not currently work with the OEM Kawi SXR pole, unless modified. I am going to take a look at it again this afternoon and see if I can make it work.
Any pics of the guys that have done this would be great...
Awesome guys thanks for the help on this...looking forward to seeing some pics if anyone can post how they did the modification. I have another idea as well...
Yeah the SN must be different...even if I disconnect the quick steer bracket, the bars will spin all the way around because the turn plate arms are too far away from the bump stop. It looks like I will have to change mounting locations for it to reach, as Subhard suggested.
I know I will...
No problem...I guess I will just need to talk to them tomorrow. Its not looking good that this will work without some kind of modification. Guess I will need to put the stockers back on tomorrow....sux!
You guys could be right, but I thought I did my research before I bought this item...dang it!
Here is what it says on their own website:
XScream Adjustable Steering System
Product Description:
Made for riders by riders.... The new adjustable steering system is the last one you will ever need...
I have been messing with this thing all evening and I finally gave up. I thought this would be a simple drop in part? I am totally confused and any pics or install tips are appreciated. I've done a lot of searching but havent found anything dealing with this problem of attaching the steering...
