Super Jet Looking to get a SJ...help me decide.

Sure will...I'm looking forward to experiencing the difference between the SJ and SXR.

To me this speaks volumes. Guy is probably borderline OCD, which is a good thing when it comes to maintenance and upkeep, IMO.

I agree. The owner of the 96 said he bought two of them from a racer in Denver. Here is what he said: I didn't build it. I've had it since 2006. It originally had a Factory Type 4 dry pipe in it. I switched out the pipe for a Factory B pipe to get more freestyle performance. I attached a...

Hes in S.A., said he would meet me halfway and I think I knocked $800 off, he said he would think about it. Whats a good price for the 96?

Thanks again to most of you for your valuable input. I will probably make the choice this evening. Still undecided at this point.

Yeah that 07 is clean...The guys garage is also immaculate, makes me think he takes care of his stuff. This is a tough decision. I know the wife would just say go with the cheaper one.

Super Jet Looking to get a SJ...help me decide.

Thanks for all the input. I really wasnt too concerned with the footholds, I just thought I would mention it. My main concern was one ski is 16 years old and was a previous race ski and the other is only 5 years old and looks very clean. I am not familiar with all of the upgrades on the 96 so...

SXR Xscream adjustable steering on an SXR problem...

Success!! It was difficult to remove the stock pivot bolt with the tools I had but after a little heat I finally got it unscrewed. I ended up going to Lowes and bought a 3" 3/8 threaded hex bolt and a couple of lock washers and nuts. I also found a plastic bushing that fit almost perfectly...

SXR Xscream adjustable steering on an SXR problem...

Yeah...Looking closer at the pics of Little_franny's subplate, it is slightly different than mine. I am not going to be able to reuse the stock pivot location, as it is too far from the bump stop. Only way it would work in that location is if I drilled a couple of short bolts through the sub...

SXR Xscream adjustable steering on an SXR problem...

Thanks Jon!!! I will take a look and hopefully be back on track for this weekend. I would also like to add that Xscream has been great and has offered a full refund plus a discount on a future order. They also plan to update their website to be more specific as to what units this steering...

SXR Xscream adjustable steering on an SXR problem...

Rick just got back with me and has confirmed the Xscream adjustable steering system will not currently work with the OEM Kawi SXR pole, unless modified. I am going to take a look at it again this afternoon and see if I can make it work. Any pics of the guys that have done this would be great...

SXR Xscream adjustable steering on an SXR problem...

Yeah the SN must be different...even if I disconnect the quick steer bracket, the bars will spin all the way around because the turn plate arms are too far away from the bump stop. It looks like I will have to change mounting locations for it to reach, as Subhard suggested. I know I will...

This sounds encouraging...! What about the big bolt that sticks out which I am attached to now with the castle nut...did you have to cut it flush?

SXR Xscream adjustable steering on an SXR problem...

No problem...I guess I will just need to talk to them tomorrow. Its not looking good that this will work without some kind of modification. Guess I will need to put the stockers back on tomorrow....sux!

I have been messing with this thing all evening and I finally gave up. I thought this would be a simple drop in part? I am totally confused and any pics or install tips are appreciated. I've done a lot of searching but havent found anything dealing with this problem of attaching the steering...
