Thank you for the insight. Yes I was mixing my part number up...I have read so much things are starting to get jumbled in my mind.
Yeah about the intake and plate combo, I was reading that the R&D intake is designed to match up to the R&D plate, and if you run the stock plate you must notch it...
I am learning as much as I can and I have searched/read many topics on the subject of intake grates, but I thought I would throw the question out there. I currently have an R&D intake grate and R&D plate on my SXR, and I am wanting to put my new d-cut stock plate on. I know I will have to make...
From what I have found on Google:
The speed of sound through fiberglass nearly matches the speed of sound through water, so the sonar can’t really tell the difference between the two substances. Very little signal power is lost as a result.
However, your ski is not completely hollow. There...
Dang it...! I wish I was there I really think I could help.
I used to have this unit a few years back before I sold that boat and bought a new one and installed Lowrance equipment. I know you can save waypoint and tracks, but I think you need to insert a memory card into the slot. You should...
Yeah that is what's looming in the back of my mind. I am the type that sometimes breaks something trying to fix something...know what I mean? Don't know why, its just always been that way. In the end it always gets fixed but it takes me longer since I had to also fix whatever it was that...
Thanks for all the suggestions...The ski has the stock impeller. I think I will GPS it first and see what my top speed is and then go from there. If a few people say that's how SXR's are and my speed is up to par, then I doubt I will mess with anything.
I should be able to GPS tomorrow so...
I was out riding around on the SXR about an hour ago and I have noticed that from perhaps just past 1/2 throttle through full WOT the top speed and acceleration seems to be about the same. I forgot to turn on my phones GPS to clock my speed but maybe I will tomorrow. I am thinking it is a...
You should find it now! Just make sure you do good slow and steady passes and don't try to shoot the beam out too far to each side or you will loose resolution. 60ft to each side should be plenty. GOOD LUCK!
That unit is okay but for the intended use of finding a ski it will take longer and there is still a good chance he could miss it. Reason being is it is only a downscan, so you would have to boat directly over the ski for it to show up on the screen. Also I don't think I read that is has GPS...
Type this in Google or Yahoo
"bass fishing lake erie forum"
A lot of sites came up, some had forums with recent post. Apparently its one of the best small mouth lakes around. Many of those sites had charter advertisments along the right side of the site. I bet you can get a half day...
The shots I posted are from the Lowrance models. They all look the same, the only difference is some models have a larger screen. Also it is possible to change many different settings including the color. The LSS is the brain of the side imaging and it is sold as a seperate unit that plugs...
The first image is the side scan. Imagine the boat is on the bright white line and at the very top of the screen. As time passes the screen is scrolling down. So what you see to the left of the line is actually to the left of the boat, and what you see to the right of the white line is to the...
In addition, these models also have GPS so you will be able to keep another window open on the screen and see your grid path to make sure you have good coverage of the area. Lastly, if you cant find a boat, try to find someone with a kayak that has pedals such as the Hobie models. That way you...
If I had my boat up there I would help you find it and we would find it. I have the Lowrance HDS LSS side imaging system mounted and they all have down scan now. Humminbird has similar models that you can buy for around $500 used that dont need the seperate LSS module for side scanning...
So day two went much better...I'm picking up the new SJ quickly. The bottom end hits hard, launches me out of the water when I nail it. I ran it for a while then stopped to check the b-pipe using the splash method and it is running too cool. I found out the top was open quite a bit so I...
Yeah the seller was very knowledgable and a great guy. I think he said he was first in the state about 10 years ago around the bouys. He met me halfway to San Antonio and we did the deal. I am now the proud owner of an 07 SJ! Took her for a spin yesterday afternoon and spent some time in the...
No, I never have had the pleasure to ride any of the smaller skis...I'm sure one day I'll get a shot at one.
I can say that the few mods I listed will completely change your SXR, and I dont even have the wet pipe on it yet. Heck even just the zero degree bars/steering upgrade and a cheap...
if I knew more about skis I would give you better input, but I am just a n00b who happens to own an 09 SXR and I just picked up my 07 Superjet this morning. There is a major difference between the two skis and I will need to ride them more and perhaps back to back to give a better opinion but I...
I have a feeling it will be as you say. Its nice to have the SXR as a back up though...I can let my buds ride it when they come over. What a great friend am I to buy them a jet ski. :brap:
