Bought a used motor from Brad. He was a great guy to deal with and answered all of my questions promptly.

The reason I think it is carbs is that the only thing I changed was carbs. It hit way harder with the 44's but not as linear as 38's

It was on my team scream ported 701. Putting same carbs on a 81mm bore 5 mill cast DASA. I'm sure prop and pipe tuning would have gone a long way.

I run some pro tec taper bore 44's. They run crisp and clean everywhere but at 1/4 throttle the ski is pretty much like a light switch. Is there any way to tune that out? Running 125 pilot with 100 main and 2.3ns with 95 gram spring.

Are these AM mikuni 44's or OEM? I ran pro tec taper bore 44's on my Xscream ported 701. I was very happy with the carb swap. Nobody ever believed it was a 701.

They are good guys down there and are great with communication. Just send them an email. One of my riding buddies just rebuilt his SS865 after 3 seasons and everything still looked perfect! But 3 seasons for us in the north is like 1 season in the south.

I agree......I can never ride other people's skis very well. I'm always stiff and uncomfortable. Hope you heal up quick Zach.
