Rickters. Quality is bar none the best. I can't tell you the amount of times my ski has been thrashed. This ski is solid. I even landed a roll on a SN my rail tool of the front of his ski and the only damage for me is a small stress crack and some ripped turf.
Whoa relax dude. Instead of telling him to leave just link the thread that explains the 5 post rule where everyone posts so they can message
Never mind Rosie. I just read his other posts this kid seems angry at the world cause his ski is broken.
Yours sounds like it has a clogged return line pull the return line from the gas take when the ski is out of the water and see if fuel come pouring out when running. Easy thing to rule out. And also the check valve on the gas tank.
Come on down any weekend man the surf is a lot of fun. We get some nice clean surf all the time if it turns out to be to much you can always hang out on the beach we are all more then willing to help out. We all had to start somewhere.
Its getting starved of air. The carbs can clear that area of air in seconds think about how much air comes out of the exhaust. If I go deep after nosing in a flip the engine will stall sometimes. You also may be pulling water right through the side of the hood and going straight into the carbs...
I ended up putting my SJ shaft in and like you said I'm missing almost half my engagement. I had to push my midshaft down further and put a spacer on it.
Remember though that a 155 OEM is not a "cheap" alternative. I'm in quite a lot with mine. $300 wear ring, $300 impeller, $400 pump cone, and you need a reduction nozzle. You can get thrust trim for $800 or one off a B2 or gp1200. And then what ever you paid for the stator.
If it's a stock nose piece then it's the same screws that are in the back of the ebox just cut in half. I don't know the actual size but they are very coarse thread and you also need like a coupler that goes around the screw (I have no idea what they're called).
That looks like a blowsion spring. Do as freakrider said and also ratchet strap it down over night and it should lose some of its tension. When I installed one I had to heat it up to it was red hot and open it up a bit
I have a 155 in a FR2 with a ported 701 and it pulls out of the water better then a 144. But it doesn't have that snap a 144 has but I'm sure with a xs900 you will have plenty of power for it.
