Smusleh's '06 SJ RN Build Project (FYI: A lot of Pics)

Indicator light is comes on when my bilge pump is on. Too many times I have left my pump running because I couldn't hear it. Now I can see when it's on.

Smusleh's '06 SJ RN Build Project (FYI: A lot of Pics)

So I finally finished my first ever build a few weeks ago and haven’t had a chance to post the details until now. I must say this was both fun and frustrating, but well worth it in the end, as it looks, sounds, and feels amazing on the water. I want to especially thank following people who...

    B-pipe cooling, routing water lines

I still curious to know how someone can dictate if their pipe is too wet or too dry? What is an idicator of this? Looks more or less like the way I have my cooling lines routed.

    B-pipe cooling, routing water lines

How can you tell if you pipe is too wet or too dry? What dictates this?

    B-pipe cooling, routing water lines

Kahuna - It is difficult to make out how the lines are routed from that image. Do you have a diagram you can share with us?

    B-pipe cooling, routing water lines

    B-pipe cooling, routing water lines

Thanks...I guess since this is the most standard way in the industry and seems to be working well for me so far, I'll just keep it this way.

    B-pipe cooling, routing water lines

This is how I am currently running my and it seems to work ok so far but I haven't experimented with any other configurations as of yet. So I figured I would come to the "X" to see is there is anything in particular that is problematic with the way I currently have my cooling lines routed...

eric malone new q8 hull !!!!!

Great time this weekend in Pittsburgh...I was out there for my first event with my newly built ski and what an expereince it truly was. Seeing Eric on his Q8 ripping back flips, flares, & no handed barrel rolls with ease was truly amazing from 10 feet away. However, even more amazing was...

    Sealing NPT Fittings

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but what sealant are ppl using, if any, on the NPT fittings located on the head pipe, pump, and cylinder head?

    Polished Waterbox

Thanks....I plan on doing my B-pipe champer on the next rainy weekend. I'm going to try using the PowerBall as "Don 79 TA" mentioned and finish it with clear. I just hope that the clear coat will be able to withstand the heat. I might try using this stuff and see how well it works...

    Polished Waterbox

I'm flattered, but I don't think I will be doing this on the side until I have done it a few more times. I don't even know how much I would charge someone to polish something like that. I'm sure I will learn a few more good techniques and only get better at it. Good point, but I'm unsure...

    Polished Waterbox

I did every single part of it by hand. 80, 220, 400, 800, 1000, and 2000 grit then polish....it was a total PITA but great to learn how to do something from a simple YouTube video. Once my hands recover, I'll do my chamber and then possibly clear powder coat it when it's done to protect it...

    Polished Waterbox

Not that sad becuase it was a practice piece, I knew going it it was a 50/50 shot and I learned more in the end. Also, if i get a 1 or 2 gallon Jaz fuel cell, you might be able to sneak a peak at it.

    Polished Waterbox

I don't think I want to practice anymore...it is a lot of work. So unless you send me yours with some $$$ you might not ever get it back...:sneaky:
