Big negative on the Easter ride Jason. That's a 3 day weekend for me, I plan on playing catch up.
Nick, if you need some measurements, I'll grab what I can, but I've changed about everything...lol. I wouldn't wish this project on anyone. It's a LOT of work.
I got a decent amount done...
It's all image...well maybe not all, but it's part of it.
I don't know how many times someone has come up to me and said "I heard those things are hard to ride".
When a good portion of the public thinks something is hard, only a small number of them will step up to the challenge.
Ya, it does.
I'm pretty confident the seller didn't knowingly sell me 44s.
Good thing is that I can just use my BlackJacked SXR I bodies until I find something better.
Just got off the phone with Mikuni. I gave him the stamping of Mac 52 and he confirmed that it was infact a 44. I also gave him the stamping on my BJ (Mac 67) and he confirmed it a 44 as well.
Can't get a set of calipers up there, at least not my calipers. So, ya, it was a ruler to measure up into the bore from the bottom to that machined step where the butterfly seats. I actually measured the top and bottom bores with a caliper.
I did find a site that spelled out that the top...
Ya, BJ has no venturi at all. Comparing the two (that seem identical), you can see where the "aftermarket" machining is. Art basically machines out the venturi and presses in a manufactured annular discharge throat. These two carbs seem identical. I'm thinking I bought some 44mm carbs that were...
Hey Barry, there wasn't much ripping going on, might want to change the title to "Matt driving Miss Daisy on the Superfreak with the Jetworks 960 maiden voyage weekend"....lol.
Hmm, that step is the same on both carbs, at about 11/16" with my ruler.
I should also add, the top opening on the "46s" are 46.46mm.
Kinda wish I had some stock 44s here to compare them to.
Reminds me of when I was in a strip club once and this 18yo dude on his b-day gets pulled up on stage. The girls are all over him....writing stuff all over his chest and back in Sharpie, they have him down to his boxers and socks then a girl grabs his boxers to pants him....he's wearing tighty...
Alright, so I have what I thought was a Blackjack 44 sitting here and what I thought are a pair of aftermarket 46s in front of me. The bottom of the Blackjack is 45.12mm and look to have the factory finish. The machining where the butterfly is is a little bit narrower and is pretty much true...
Who makes a turn plate for 25.4 bars? The common size is 28.6 in common with RRP bars along with ProTaper and Renthal fat bars. Now WDK and someone else (brain fart) now make plates that take up to a 31.8 bars, standard fat mountain bike bars.
My suit is a john with zippers in the front. There is 2 zipper pulls, one up, one down. I found out the hard way that I need to either wear something under the suit, or some board shorts over the suit.
I was a small local lake, kids all over.
I get done riding and was standing on the...
