You run a strap from the front and the rear crossing over atop the ratchet at the same time. Just make sure both side have about the same tightness before tightening. Also makes a make shift tow strap. I hook it to the same spot as my pole limiter.

Unless I am missing something ( happens all the time ) you would remove these 2 bolts, disconnect your steering cable and your steering nozel would come right off. As far as your ratchet strap goes, you just drill a hole thru that pice of turf on your hood and mount the ratchet there. You then pull the strap from the pole thru and tighten.

Just a heads up.. there is aluminum plates in the hull under the glass so you can drill into them for mounting hooks or reconfiguring your layout. I know this because the very first bolt I went to put in I snapped the head off and the threads where flush in the hull..(OMG!!!) LOL Not a good start.
