Stock ebox gets its ground from a wire going to the stator, make sure you have a good ground at ebox(use a multimeter)

I hear ya. Anyone can learn composites, but takes a bit of trial and error and research, especially if you get off into infusion/bagging work. Chan plates break easy if not built right.

Lol... I've compared 2 skis back to back OEM to mag., SETUP CORRECTLY the difference was mind blowing, the oem 155 is the biggest pos for flatwater use. 701 cant even dream of pulling the same prop as a 1100.

I'd get something 96 or newer, with a mercruiser bravo drive. Newer the better generally, the older a boat gets the more headache they usually are. I've never owned a speed boat, but have repaired hundreds of them, ranging from 20' baja to 54' fountain.
