I use slalom waterski gloves with good results so far. I like them for the wrist support and the palms aren't thin like most gloves I've seen.

Just a forewarning, the price of hotels in abscecon will change a lot from Friday night to Saturday night. I highly suggest using VRBO.com and homeaway.com to rent a condo/house. You will save money and be right on the island.

VRBO should have some homes if you can't find anything there I would contact a few of the local realtors. Hope you find something! Crossing my fingers for good surf, the hurricane season is upon us but has been quiet so far.
