Isn't it stupid?

Turf is finally done! I just siliconed the outer edge last night (but didn't get any pictures). The footholds are insanely comfortable! The support under the arch of my foot is super nice. The 25mm padding on the top of the foothold fits the top of my foot just right. I did rail extensions again...

That is a most necessary mod when you do a shortened hull. I couldn't imagine trying to roll this thing with footholds way in the back.

Sides are turfed now. Gigantic thanks to Pranceswithsuperjet!!! Only because of his stretching and forming were we able to do them in ONE sheet. I totally doubted him until I saw it happen. I've got the bottom foam in now and sanded the taper. These are the most comfortable footholds I've...

A little more progress today. The tray is completely glassed, the nose has been re-reinforced (yeah) on the inside and outside. Turf is next, then reassembly and weighing (I need to see how close I can get to SuperJETT's weight). As of today, hull with no motor, battery, tank, or waterbox came...

Like joshuaeric said, get the pole on the hood. Also, make sure you preturn (to the right) far enough to really "snap" your rotation to the left (and listen for the 'click' of the bars hitting the stop). You're close.

Bonk yourself on the head for me. I've got an Xmetal aluminum pipe in there now - it's all good.

Can someone explain to my why I don't get the best power out of the 'standard' set up, but get GREAT performance out of my set-up (parallel)? I would think that the wamer water guys would run a parallel set up like mine since you can cool the pipe with LESS (dryer) cold water.

updates: The gunwales and tray were fitted with as much polystyrene as I could fit in there. The areas that contacted the gunwales and tray were filled with 2 part Fiberlay foam (2.5 lb). The seams have been/will be glassed over, and I'll be laying two (2) layers of 9 oz twill across the tray...

You need to take the pole off to paint it black anyway, so once it's off, you can weigh it... :-)

Pathetic indeed! - BUT, my kids are fed, and my wife is happy, so that's worth a WHOLE lot more than being on the water...besides, I didn't specify what YEAR I was going to be done. Both gunwales are foamed now, and so is the front of the tray. I just need to put some foam under the tray...

Who knows, now that you have a light weight hull, you might make it all the way around and your bottom hitting days might be behind you...
