    X-Metal Poles Anyone?

Xmetal pole all the way. 5" of adjustability and no exposed threaded rod on the underside. Plus, the steering setup is cleaner, and the pole has a curve to it instead of two angles. In addition, the pole itself is lighter as well as the mounting bracket. The one final thing is the fact that it...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

It changes the angle of your foot more, and allows for more padding on the top of the foothold (where you need it). All of the landing shock *should* go through your heel (if your posture is good). Plus, the 'forward lean' of the footholds causes you to get closer to the pole on rolls and get...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Take your time shaping the foam to fit the foothold and you won't need to re-fill any. You should only need to pad the top of the foothold (the part that comes in contact with your shoelaces) and the HEEL of your foot. Don't pad under your toes, and taper up to the heel.

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Yes, 13" from toe to bulkhead with the dash removed. You'll find when you install the right foothold that it will just touch the exhaust pipe. I have always used epoxy and filler (west systems 404) to seal the footholds to the tray. The factory glue is some of the hardest stuff to remove. It...

    Official Wave Rave 2009 Thread

I'm just riding for the day. I'm probably coming up in the afternoon though, so I have a feeling the parking lot will be STUFFED.

    Official Wave Rave 2009 Thread

What's everyone doing for ski launching and trailer parking? I'm afraid that if I buzz up in the afternoon that I won't be able to park at the ramp. Are most people launching, then having someone drive a vehicle back to the campground?

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Hmmm, let's see, Patrick lands every single roll ALL THE WAY AROUND, and I've only seen Harrison splat 3/4 rolls.... Seems to me that forward is better. (You know I'm joking with you Harrison!)

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Unless you're moving the exhaust tube, you'll only be able to get them about 13" from the bulkhead (front of the tray). That seems to be a decent position on a stock length hull. I have mine 10" from the bulkhead and it's perfect on my -2.5" hull. Just remember, whatever you take off for...

Yes, take the 'blue' cooling line and have it come out where the red one does. Your pipe and exhaust manifold inlets are on that side, so why would you want your cooling line coming through the bulkhead on the carb side? That's one of the things I wish I did different when I built my hull.

Thanks man! As prances said, that was Duncan. It was about 2 minutes after the fuzz left the lake for the evening. :-)

Nope. Everything I'm doing is just right. I talked to Patrick (ikstej) and he said my form is good, but I need to start 4-5 feet sooner. Right now I'm powering up the wave (just like on the big lake). With the flatwater backy, I need to power down into the trough, through the bottom, then up the...

Thank you sir, but I can't take the credit for the sides of the footholds - that was all pranceswithsuperjet's work. I did hold the heat gun for him while he was stretching the turf!

Thanks! I'm hoping that when I ride for more than 15 minutes next time, I'll be able to get a little further around. Maybe I'll have to swing down to Louisville and have you give me some pointers.

Here's the video. I think I need to try to spot the landing right away. I'm not really 'arching' backwards enough.

It's DONE!!! Engine is back in and it fired up right away. I love the sound of a stroker in the afternoon. :-) Took my first ride of the year for about 15 minutes last evening, and it feels lighter. I think the boat has what it takes to hit a flatwater backflip. I just need to get my...

I'd move them 2.75" farther forward. Your barrel rolls will thank you.
