You should be fine leaving your electrics as is.
You will have to tune your carb, mainly for the pipe. It seems like a lot of people do not have to change carb settings after increasing compression.
I was looking into getting one of these, but I plan on having stock electrics...no enhancer or anything.
Do I need to do anything besides play with the timing to get it running right?

This thread is actually making me want to try an SXR. I wish my sj could carve "on rails". On days when there aren't any waves the sj can actually get a little boring. I still have fun, but I could see how the sxr could be a fun flat water carving boat.
I went with the settings factory pipe recommends and mine runs great, and I didn't have to change anything. I would at least start there and tune accordingly.
