Sanded and cleaned a little today. I've got some more to do but I think I should be ready to paint the bilge this weekend and start putting everything back in.
I will swing by tomorrow and pick some up. Do you think this is a good deal? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PJS-750-KAWASAKI-SX-SXI-PRO-SXR-PIPE-COMPLETE-/150943710104?hash=item2324f23b98&item=150943710104&pt=Personal_Watercraft_Parts&vxp=mtr
Last night I started stripping more of the Bilge. Also ordered some bilgekote paint for the inside and all new fuel and water lines. Probably clean and sand on the inside this weekend.
Last April I purchased a 95 Sxi that had been sitting outside for five years. All I really did was clean it, turf it, and switch out the gas. It ran for about an hour before the engine blew up (top and lower end). I still don't know what I'm going to do about an engine. Either buy one from...
Got the engine out. One piston was okay and the other was pretty destroyed. One of the piston rods is ceased onto the crank. I think I am going to have the lower and top end rebuilt.
Found out what was wrong with my ski. I didn't have a spark so I replaced the ignition. Now I have spark. The ski still wouldn't start. I thought it was the stator. Nope, it was fine. I didn't have compression so I took the head off. One of the pistons was pretty damaged. I have never...
THANKS! yeah, it is the same one. I had never turfed before so I went with pre cut. If you order black you will get the turf quick. I went with awesome purple so he had to cut after I ordered. The kit fit perfect. Now I just wish I could find a cheap pipe. If you see one, keep me posted.
Does anyone have any photos and how to do's on cutting and taking some of the weight out of a stock sxi hood? Same with the waterbox. I probably wont get into that until I put a new pipe on though.
Thanks
I still need to put in the other strap, but she is finished! It has not ran in five years and first push of the button she fired right up. I was a little surprised.:cheer:
This switch here works great with a Bilge Pump.

I just bought my first SXI about a month ago and I was wondering, is my handle pole pad supposed to be loose? It jiggles around on the pole like an exotic dancer :headbang:. If it is no supposed to be loose, how do I tighten it? Do I have to take the steering assembly apart?
Thanks, Tony. The ski had a float switch when I got it, but it was broke. The pump still works, but I need to buy a switch. Eric says he has a new one in his attic. I really wonder what all he has up there haha. The ski is starting to look pretty good.
