    midshaft are different .the thread on early models is smaller than 701 platform.the shaft will interchange but you will need a different coupler to match it.

    this is the problem with that 650,the piston doesn't see the light at the right time so it runs back. i remember a long time ago,one of my pistons hit the head because i had lost spark.piston couln't see anything and went straight ahead.idiot.:nutkick:

    avgas is different from a combustion standpoint.slower reving motor,high altitude,cooler air and low compression. does not work like 100 race gas. does help a little if mixed with premium preferably at 20 to 40%. what does a gallon go for now?

    engine is running in reverse.known to happen every now and then.check your timing and flywheel,key etc.. water is probably coming through the bearing housing or the back seal on it. did you check for cooling water flow? if running in reverse you would not get any cooling water in engine and...

    yes,it's true that at higher rpm's the octane rating can be lower.the only problem is that jet ski motors don't turn those high rpm's.
