    BLACKJACKS-Factual Footage

Loading up? Are you kidding, twostrokes hesitate from being too lean not too rich. What has been demonstrated is certainly nothing special, just having the idle screw rich enough for a cold engine. If the idle mixture was peaked out on a hot engine it would tend to stumble when cold.

    Who loves ebay?

I have found some good deals on Ebay but they take a lot of time find and luck to win. For some reason jetskiers like to sell junk, its hard to find parts that haven't been ruined by exposure. "Came off a running boat" yea, it was running before we sank it three years ago.

    Pump Efficiencies and Power.

You are going to need a tach when playing with pumps. There is little correlation between brands and styles of props and how they are marked. The current crop of small hub swirl types have been around a long time so we know exactly what to expect. Some guys are having trouble with their new...

    Pump Efficiencies and Power.

Mag pumps typically go no faster on smooth water, if they did then that would be their main selling point. They tend to lose less speed/thrust in rough water compared to a stock pump. The load may be different for a given prop but that is easy to change. The big engine guys boil enough water...

    stock "lean burn" Carbs ??

The 44s that yamaha uses are SBNs with different plates. I have had no trouble making them fourcycle at part throttle, where they are suppose to run leaner than aftermarket versions. The I body mikunis are designed for and do run leaner above 1/4 throttle. Mikuni I40 that are stock on SXRs and...

    Hull modding question

I think taking a mold off a SJ would be double work for a single mod and even then it may not fit under an FX1 tray. Installing a 144 correctly is a lot of work and worth only a little low speed thrust over a proper Kawi conversion. The easiest/best pump mod would be to use a 750 pump and make a...

Best coating/filler for exterior bottom of Ski

Marine-tex is good but expensive. Some epoxy like West will not fisheye so it makes a good filler/coating with a little cabosil added.

    Removing RVT silcone

Any petroleum solvent will swell silicone and many other rtv sealants. A mild solvent like mineral spirits (paint thinner) takes time but usually wont remove paint.

Whats a mint 95 sn worth

Older Superjets are appreciating in value. Look at the ski as a list of parts, if the whole is cheaper than the sum then its a good deal. There's not many good deals anymore. To answer your question, $1500 would be my max if it was perfect.

Best way to check for wet foam in an SJ?

It will be damp for sure but I have never been able to get more than a few ounces out. Get two bathroom scales and weigh the ski. Put a scale at the rear edge of the rideplate and the other at the front bumper with a short block.

    What impeller should i use.

Any 750-800 prop will need some machining to fit right in a 650. A seadoo prop will fit but are hard to find in low pitch. If performance is important then get a modified 750 swirl or a Solas ka-sc-i.

155mm pump swap for SJ ??

Skat makes low pitch 7-12 swirl props for 700 and 760 ventures. That is what I have and it is very flat.

    750 pipe????????

Thats a 650 style pipe. Westcoast made a U pipe and hose to go under the pipe to the stock waterbox. You have to cut out some tank foam to clear the pipe.

155mm pump swap for SJ ??

I will be testing a 155 conversion in a couple of months. I will measure and post the static thrust, RPM, and top speed in comparison to my best 144 setup. Im trying for more thrust between 0-15mph. My 144 testing suggests there is too much pressure drop at the inlet limiting the max static...

Where - post about a pipe instead of waterbox design

You still need a box up front to dampen the pressure wave. A resonator/baffle box downstream will handle the noise.

    coffman vs. b pipe

There is no tricks to making it work. Run a hose from the head to the headpipe and out a 1/4" pisser. The stinger barb should be factory restricted but could be taken down to .100". Ive been running this on a 50mph ski for many years. If you want the most performance work on the prop and nozzle...

    Check out my new hull

Micro balloons make the filler light weight but will always run until the epoxy gels. Add a little silica to make it stay put.

FX-1 My FX-1... What should I do first?

The Kawi pump actually fits the FX1 inlet, grate, and doesnt change the angle of the driveshaft. The Bonzi mod does bolt in but has a couple of issues that keep it from working as well as it could. Its a lot more work to get the Yamaha pump to mount properly and perform as well as it does in a...

    Custom/Hybrid Ground up stunt build

A well prepped bond will be far stronger than any bolts. For piece of mind just pot the bracket in place with your favorite thickened epoxy and install some countersunk screws from the top. The aviation epoxy is good stuff but incredibly expensive, unless your employer donates it.
