My brothers fx-1 had a tight pole and it felt weird to me. My SN has a spring but it never stayed floating on its own. I think I'll try it without a spring and see how I like the feel of it. Then try an oem spring if I need more let off. I'll look into getting a spacer too
The vise worked like a charm. The spring is definitely a tight coil. Do you guys run a RRP pole without a spring? Should I have spacers in between the pole and the bracket? This just has the molded ones on the bottom piece of the pole.
Well I tried to take the bolt out and now it's stuck halfway. Can't go back in and can't come out. This spring has to go! And I need a work bench with a vise!
Supposedly the pole has a titanium bolt so it's "unbreakable" but it makes me nervous tightening it so much. Plus the noise sounds like a creaky door in a bad need of wd-40
Yeah thats where I will mount it. The tray is wide open.
Another question. The ski has a scupper so should I add a bilge for added security or does it even matter? Im coming from a 94 SN so I like doing subs more than anything. Not sure if I will do them on the BOB but also don't want a...
Yeah i will be running the rope no matter what. Just didn't know where to put the anchor. Ill be ordering a CF eyelet for the anchor. I almost have to push the pole down to keep it at riding level. Not pushing hard but keeping pressure on it to keep it from rising. Guess I will just ride it...
A stock tank would fit but I don't have an internal fuel filler for it. A cart tank came with the ski so I was just weighing my options. I like to cruise around, do tricks and chase boats full of girls on my lake so I'm thinking 45 min ride time just wouldn't cut it. It wouldn't be fun for me...
Eventually I think I'll switch it out but like anyone I want to get this thing finished and ride it asap! Then I can worry about different parts once I have my fill of 42 degree water riding.
2nd note: does an AM aluminum waterbox make it louder? I had one on my 550 a while back and people...
i just bought a BOB hull and it doesn't have a hole for the fuel selector to change from ON to RES. Should I drill a new hole or just run fuel lines directly to the carb? I have a cart tank but it might be too small for me (2.5 gal). I live on a 600 acre lake and like having the reserve option...
i just bought a BOB hull and am transferring parts from a 94 SN. The guy I bought it from said I could run the SN waterbox but I see a lot of people using the RN waterbox. Can I use the SN box or will I run into problems? Thanks
I wear 5 mil booties with a wet suit. Water is 42 right now and I do alright in it. I don't stay in the water too long nor ride for hours but works for me for a couple of hours of riding
This is how it looks now. I just know when I was tightening the bolt it was making an awful sound when I moved the pole up and down. Like nails on a chalkboard
The spring was installed by the previous owner and I just bolted the bracket on. I haven't messed with the spring. Not sure if I have access to a torch to bend it either.
