All good data here. One thing all Solas need is a cut back prop, IMO they are way too loose. It will just soften the bottom end hit, but if you prop correctly it wont matter, but if you took you recomendation from someone who had theirs cut back it will hit softer.

Thats not 1-1.5 mm imo. Thats 5-7. I measure from inner blade to stator fin. That photo appears to be about 5mm

1-1.5 sounds close for a skat prop in a solas, Mine was probably 5 or 6, maybe you arent using the prop rubber/steel washer that comes stock?

Motor is always set up light on my set ups, never dialed for kill. I dont need it. Id rather run a 1500cc motor at 32 deg and 185 psi, then a 1000cc complete race fuel run it at 250 psi 36 deg timing. I like consistancy. Easy to see after all those hours by these photos it was super light...

All torn down for complete rebuild to all even slightly used parts. 220 gals and look at this motor. Very pleased.

Should be mid 50's to mid 60's stripped. mine was a surf layup and it was lower 60's

Not just yours, but also the entire weight of the setup. They all affect prop pitch, also skill set. Trying BF, want low end snap, trying to get more height want mid to top end only. IMO

Dont forget about your bore sizes, weight, etc etc. They all play into the picture but alwyas go with the builder/tuner

OCD, good deal keep us posted on the testing for the heat sink and battery loss. What battery are you going to test with?

New ones sit flat if installed properly. Watch out for the stamped reinforcement plate, the sharp side goes up away from the reeds

ahhh didnt see the DASA wwas going in the Rickter. Ill tell you what that is one of the most under rated motors ever. Ill take one of those any day over most new motors at 2-3 times the price.

Got one on the way for my next surf hull. Im going to build it and sink the ebox like a life proof case, then check for leaks. Always wanted one of these now I can afford one for my surf hull.
