The best setup is one where the hoses extend above the waterline (when ski is upside down), and the hoses are on an angle towards the center of ski to prevent water from coming in when the ski is on its side. The stock FX-1 hood is a great example to copy....it's the driest design I've ever seen.
I would also question whether you need dual cooling. Unless your running a big motor, it really isn't necessary. I've run single cooling on my FX for 18 years with a freestyle ported 701 and never had an issue. I only went to dual cooling when I installed a ss865.
I use them on almost all my skis. They are good quality. I don't like the wetjet urethane dampner though, as it's stiff as hell and doesn't absorb any vibes.
