most pump shoes will need to be ground to match opening of pump. the bottom should be flush with hull also. break out the grinder.

if the pipe is the short version don't install it.the long pipes are more desirable especially on a 550. you could try to bring the air pipe up into the hood to limit the water intake but still not ideal.it's true that the oem hoods are restrictive if boat is modified though.

cranks are identical from 1986 until 1994. the 3 piece cranks elmol refers to were used on early 550 and all 440 iirc but they would still work on your boat. only very early 440 and 400 cranks with the double rear bearings will not work
