Thanks @37, that is exactly the information I needed. I think I will probably pick up a KP pole this winter and swap the cable. Is there another off the shelf option to put an old style cable on my 2008 pole? I know Wammer has one, I'd like to just buy the cable mount parts and source my own cable.
Obviously the 2008+ SJ steering is poor but how much better is it with the pre-08 setup?
I want to know that it gets much better before I buy a new pole, cable and steering.
Obviously the hull is different from the 96-07 skis, does this have a large influence on the steering?
Thanks again @JetManiac for your support this year. We would not have a running ski if it wasn't for you.
I've got the bottom end buttoned up, just have to drop the cylinder off for a bore then it can go back together. The hull is in the paint shop right now getting some love.
It's probably not a bad idea to rebuild your carb once you figure out your issue. Maybe move that primer line out of the fuel line feeding the carb to the return line as well.

After selling my XFT I wanted to find an inexpensive hull to start a new build. The Maxx hull Clickboom had for sale fit my budget so I jumped on it. His communication was excellent, he shipped fast and it arrived very quickly.

I will break this down.
I paid $125 for the head.
I then paid $26 for shipping.
I then paid $46 to ship it back.
You then refunded me $0.
I filed a PP claim and recovered $125.
The problem was not in selling the wrong part, it was your lack of communication after the deal was done and I determined it was not what was listed. I asked for your help finding a solution, sent you the parts back but you did not refund my money for days after receiving it. I had to file a...
I completely forgot about this until I was thumbing through some old photos. This guy showed up to our freeride last year after a recent motorcycle crash in which he lost his leg. He rode all weekend, I don't remember how fresh the wound was but it was definitely not fully healed, he put a...
I will update this post when I sit down at a computer but wanted to get something out there.
