Other Wet layup composites, is carbon even worth it?

For composite bagging get a small Thomas or Gast diaphragm compressor. They are quiet, use little energy, and can usually pull 26"

Other Wet layup composites, is carbon even worth it?

It is very easy to figure when the fiber is loaded in direct tension or compression. Bending loads the resin almost entirely and that is the main loading in boats. Carbon produces stronger short beam shears than glass does with the same resin. So a flat carbon pannel of given thickness will...

Freestyle Flatwater Freestyle Engine Combo Choice

All this talk of porting with no mention of carb and pump tuning? His boat will likely run poorly.

Freestyle any one use synthetic 2 stroke oil.

A freestyle engine will never get hot enough to use the "low ash" detergent. I think your distributor wants to sell some expensive oil.

Even better, dont expect any improvement at all. Bore the nozzle and get the prop load right, that will make a difference you can feel.

Freestyle japanese pump pics please help find link

More low speed volume equals higher inlet pressure, less cavitation, and more thrust. Half of the reason for larger pumps is greater volume and the other is for improved low speed efficiency. This is why I advocate larger pumps once more than 17 degrees of pitch is required to load the engine...

I cannot see the inlet radius but it appears to have a 60 degree inlet ramp. Stock Superjets are 45 and couches close to 30.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750SS Parts What should I keep

750ss/xi driveshafts work in 650sx hulls with 750 pumps/impellers. The cdi from that 93SS is probably better than the one in the 92SX.

Super Jet Come on really!! Lol

Its a Coffmans 650 superjet manifold with a stock Kawasaki 650 pipe. Just as well to use a Stock SJ exhaust.

    650/X-2 Custom carving rails..........

Any fin that hangs lower than the edge will create a delta which makes the hull even more tippy. Plus The hull will always catch and highside in turns. Add material to lower the strakes for more lateral grip. Tubbies help hold the ski on edge at higher speeds.

Custom/Hybrid Need advice on best driveshaft......just blew out 3rd one in a year:(

Buy a new OEM mid and drive shaft, also get new O-rings for the mid shaft. The splines MUST be clean and greased with moly or aluminum complex grease. Make sure to perfectly clean the driveshaft tunnel before reassembly. This area always holds sand and ANY sand will wear out the splines very...

Super Jet just bought a 2001 super Jet , is an $80.00 inspection worth it at a reputable SHop??

Look for pump damage, rust on the crankshaft, and never buy a painted ski. Almost all skis have been swamped and are poorly stored so pull the intake manifold or budget for an overhaul. Shops are basically crooks, for $80 they will just find more work for themselves.

    650/X-2 thru-hull bearing replacement

I have never found a bad bearing in the mid support unless it has been disassembled and left to rust. Usually the rubber comes loose and causes an air leak that makes the pump vibrate. Slide the engine forward and spin the shaft. listen for bearing noise. Air intrusion is the main cause of pump...

    Super Jet Manifold Question

The holes will need a bushing to take up space and the vertical position is critical because there is very little gasket contact on top/bottom.

    SX/SXi/SXi Pro 93 650 SX pump OPTIONS

Any 650 pump will fit and they are cheaper than 750 pumps. You should be able to find a bare housing for $50-$100. A complete pump with an SS prop is usually a better deal for $150 since you can sell the prop in the summer for $50-$80.
